Note: I usually internally jumper the 5501B lasers so that the laser tube starts immediately on power-on, like the 5517 lasers. I find this to be more reliable. It makes no difference to how they behave once the lsaer has locked (READY on solid). But if something in your equipment depends on the laser being off during the first couple minutes of startup, the jumper can be removed.

Since lasers such as the HP-5517 may be used in demanding aplications, the following 90 day warranty shall apply:

• First 10 days: If the laser fails to meet HP/Agilent specifications for the 5501B, buyer may opt for 100 percent refund, free repair, or replacement (if available). The laser may be returned for any other reason including that the case color doesn't match your decor for a 90 percent refund.

• Next 80 days: If the laser fails to meet HP/Agilent specifications for the 5501B, free repair or replacement will be provided, or 75 percent refund of purchase price if repair or replacement is not possible.

After 90 days, repair will be available on a time/materials basis.

Warranty void if failure resulted from improper installation, incorrect power wiring or voltages, lack of cooling, physical shock, being run over by a 10 ton truck, dropped down a flight of stairs, etc. Warranty excludes shipping.
