The buyer may opt for the normal closed or vented HP/Agilent cover pending availability. If not specified, I will select one. (The cover can always be transferred from your defective laser.) Standard metal feet are optional but will be included upon request.

IMPORTANT: However, the output is well down from the value printed on the label of 408 uW. And the split/REF frequency, which tends to increase with usage, is about 3.3 MHz, slightly above the range of 2.4-3.0 MHz spec'd for the 5517C, and close to that of the 5517D.

So, I don't know if this laser still has 100 hours or 10,000 hours remaining. It may also not work in some machines that check the REF frequency and either flag an error or produce erroneous results if it is outside the spec'd range.

But, I will offer the following warranty:

• First 10 days: If the laser fails to operate properly in buyer's setup due to the high REF frequency, or the output power drops below 180 uW or by more than 10 percent, or it fails to lock, buyer may opt for 100 percent refund, free repair, or replacement (if available). It may be returned for any other reason including that the case color doesn't match your lab decor for a 90 percent refund.

• Next 80 days: If the laser output power drops below 180 uW or it fails to lock, buyer may opt for 90 percent refund, free repair, or replacement (if available).

After 90 days, repair will be available on a time/materials basis.

Warranty void if failure resulted from improper installation, incorrect power wiring or voltages, lack of cooling, physical shock, being run over by a 10 ton truck, dropped down a flight of stairs, etc. Warranty excludes shipping.
