Spectra-Physics Model 120 HeNe Laser Head
This SP-120 laser head produces more than 4 mW of red 632.8 nm light
when powered with a 7.5 mA (at around 3.7 kV) HeNe laser power
supply. The tube has a getter electrode but no visible getter spot so I
don't know if it was never activated or is one of the clear types or is all
gone. When I got it, there was no output but running for about 24 hours
restored the laser to a power level that meets new specs. Cleaning the optics
and/or running it for more hours might squeeze out a bit more power.
It comes with the original cable
with the high voltage BNC connector compatible with the SP-256 exciter (NOT
INCLUDED).
The case is of the gloss blue variety with some very minor scuffing but is
generally in very good condition Here is a photo of the typical SP-120
resonator (though not the exact one installed in this laser - I don't own
a digital camera and am not about to drag this thing into the lab to take
a pic!).
