Introduction

This document outlines the procedure to create a complete or partial copy of the Sci.Electrnonics.Repair FAQ Web Site.

Basic Installation

CAUTION: I DO NOT recommend attempting to use a Web page grabber like unix wget unless you really know how to control it's insatiable desire to download much more than may be desired.

The directory structure of the core S.E.R FAQ looks like the following:

                 repairfaq
                     |
            +--------+---------+
            | |
           sam REPAIR
            | |
        laserpic whole

Where:

I routinely test all of this on Unix (Sun OS/Solaris), Linux (Redhat), and Windows (Win98, WinME, Win2000, WinXP) using both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. Please let me know if there are any problems.

Icons and Links

A set of icons are included for linking to Silicon Sam's Technology Resource, Sam's Laser FAQ, or the full Sci.Electronics.Repair FAQ from you own Web pages (sstr.gif, laserfaq.gif or lasersam.gif, or serfaq.gif; 64 x 64 pixels) and from Windows (sstr.ico, laserfaq.ico or lasersam.ico, or serfaq.ico; 32 x 32 pixels).
